How does the shuffle work?
Tap Shuffle to replace all empty cells with fresh random letters. Any words you've already found stay permanently highlighted on the grid. You never lose progress by shuffling. Use it whenever you're stuck.
Can words run diagonally?
Yes. words can run in any straight line: left, right, up, down, or diagonal in either direction.
Is there a winning condition?
There's no fixed target. The goal is to find as many words as possible and fill as much of the grid as you can. The grid fill percentage is shown in the scorebar so you can track your progress.
Is Word Mine free to play?
Yes. Word Mine is completely free to play in your browser with no download needed. Today's puzzle requires no account. Sign in free to track your daily streak and replay past puzzles.
Are there tips for finding more words in Word Mine?
Look for common word endings first: -ING, -ED, -ER, -EST, -LY. These suffixes create clusters of words from the same root letters. Also scan for short common words (AT, IT, IN, IS, ON, NO). They're easy to miss but add up quickly. After shuffling, take a fresh look at any new letters that appeared; a new consonant can unlock a chain of words you couldn't form before.
