Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This policy explains how HD Press handles personal information when you use hdpresspuzzles.com, create an account, subscribe to emails, or interact with our puzzles. HD Press operates the Site from Australia. This policy is written to reflect how the Site works today.
What we collect
- Account details: if you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication data needed to sign you in. Depending on the sign-in method you choose, this may involve a password, a magic-link email, or a third-party login provider such as Google or Apple. Authentication is handled by Supabase.
- Newsletter details: if you sign up for the HD Press daily email, we collect and store your email address so we can send you welcome and daily puzzle emails, and process unsubscribe requests.
- Puzzle and account activity: if you use account-based features, we store information such as streaks, solves, achievements, and similar gameplay statistics tied to your account.
- Usage analytics: we use analytics tools to measure visits, page views, puzzle engagement, and events such as outbound book-link clicks so we can understand what people use and improve the Site.
- In your browser: we use local storage and similar browser storage for your theme preference, login session, puzzle progress, solved state, onboarding/help prompts, and “continue where you left off” features.
We do not sell your data. We don’t collect payment information; book purchases happen on Amazon.
How we collect it
We collect information directly from you when you create an account, sign in, subscribe to emails, contact us, or submit information through the Site. We also collect information automatically through analytics tools, our hosting platform, and browser storage used to keep the Site working.

Cookies & local storage
We use browser storage and similar technologies to remember your theme, login state, puzzle progress, help-modal preferences, and other product settings. We also use analytics technologies, including Google Analytics when configured, to understand site traffic and feature use. We do not use the Site to serve third-party behavioural advertising. Where analytics consent controls are shown on the Site, you can manage your choice there or revisit it later via the cookie settings link in the footer.

If you subscribe to the HD Press daily email, we will send you promotional and editorial emails about the Site and daily puzzles. Each email includes an unsubscribe option, and you can also contact us to be removed from the list.
Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers may process or store information outside Australia, including in countries such as the United States and other jurisdictions where their infrastructure or sub-processors operate.
Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information we hold, including relying on established third-party providers for hosting, authentication, and email delivery. We keep information for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including operating accounts, sending subscribed emails, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing our terms.

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, subject to applicable law. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email. You can also clear locally stored puzzle and preference data from your browser. Under the Australian Privacy Principles (Privacy Act 1988), you can request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you.
