What is a pangram?
A pangram is the one word in each puzzle that uses all seven available letters at least once. Finding it completes the puzzle and earns a 10-point bonus on top of the word's normal score.
Do I have to use the centre letter?
Yes. The centre letter must appear in every word you submit. Words that don't include it are rejected regardless of whether they're valid English words.
Can I reuse letters?
Yes. All seven letters can be used as many times as you like within a single word. There's no limit on how often a letter appears.
Is there a word list I can check against?
No word list is shown upfront. Discovering words is the challenge. Valid words flash green; invalid entries flash red. Keep trying combinations.
How is Word Frenzy different from the NYT Spelling Bee?
Word Frenzy and the NYT Spelling Bee share the seven-letter, must-use-centre-letter format. Key differences: Word Frenzy is completely free with no paywall; it accepts a broader standard dictionary rather than a curated list; and the puzzle resets at midnight GMT rather than midnight Eastern time.
How is scoring calculated in Word Frenzy?
3-letter words score 1 point. 4-letter words score 2. 5-letter words score 4. 6-letter words score 8. Any word of 7 or more letters scores 15. The pangram adds a 10-point bonus, so a solved pangram is worth 25 total. Finding every valid word earns the maximum score shown in the puzzle header.
